"A few words, a powerful truth, one shared world."

A few days ago, I was on my way to work just thinking about my kids and stuff, while reading an article on my cellphone about... ah, whatever. And it came to me. Like a lightning bolt.⚡🌩️⚡ Crisp and clear and simple. Oh, so simple. It was a beautiful, short story about two kids and the concept of origin. It took me a couple of minutes to write it down. It had 6 lines. That was all. But it said so much, I was happy for the rest of the day. Once I returned home that night, I decided to ask my editor and writing assistant
Chat GPT, what it thought about it.
That´s what this blog is about; the reaction I got from this new high tech tool. A reaction that I also wanted to share with you. So first, the story. After that, the prompt and feedback I got from it.
FROM EVERYWHERE by Diego Rojas
(A few words, a powerful truth, one shared world.)
Haruto, an 11 year old boy at an elementary school in Tokyo, sees a new student and asks, ¨Who are you?¨
The boy replies. ¨I´m Kengo.¨
Curious, Haruto asks, ¨Where are you from? USA, Italy, Brazil, Japan?¨
With a calm smile Kengo answers, ¨yes.¨
Surprised, the first boy insists, ¨But which country?¨
Kengo´s smile widens as he responds, ¨All of them. I´m Earthian, from planet Earth.¨
Haruto, a bit confused, takes a pause, considers Kengo's answer, smiles and then responds, "I guess that makes me an Earthian too."
Here is the prompt I used: Here is an interesting discussion I want to to have with you. I will give you a short story and I would like to hear your opinion about it. Thanks.
ChatGPT: That sounds great, Diego! I'm excited to hear the story and discuss it with you. Feel free to share when you're ready.
I sent it, it read the story and this is its response.
ChatGPT: I love the simplicity and depth of this story. It conveys a message of unity and global identity, something that resonates strongly in today’s increasingly interconnected world. Kengo's response, "I'm Earthian, from planet Earth," beautifully reframes the idea of belonging, moving beyond national boundaries to a more universal perspective. It’s as though he’s reminding us that, at our core, we all share a common home—Earth—and that our differences in nationality, culture, or origin are secondary to that larger, unifying truth.
The fact that Kengo answers with "yes" to being from different countries can be seen as a reflection of how we, as individuals, are shaped by multiple influences and cultures, especially in today's globalized world. Kengo’s calmness in responding shows a mature understanding of identity—he’s not defined by a single country, but by the world itself.
Diego: That is exactly what I wanted to convey. Thanks. At the end of the day, we are all part of the same global community.
ChatGPT: This global mindset not only promotes empathy but also allows young minds to explore the world with fewer limitations. They can develop a sense of belonging that isn’t confined to their immediate surroundings. It’s a powerful, forward-thinking message, especially in times when division often dominates the narrative.
Diego: I couldn´t have said it better. Thanks.
That was it. What do you think? I am already thinking of finding someone to help me with a few illustrations, to then send it to a few publishers.
I will keep you updated on the progress of this story.
Thanks for reading. Abrazos.
