How To Profit From Dictatorship

A Faustian Bargain
Just like BMW, Mercedes, Siemens, Hugo Boss and IG Farben threw their weight behind the Nazis, handing Hitler the cars, chemicals, weapons, fashion and money he needed to build his killing machine, today’s tech tycoons are doing the same for the Trump administration. Back then, industry leaders made their Faustian bargain - selling their souls to the devil - to profit from dictatorship.
Now, CEOs like Elon Musk, Sam Altman, and Peter Thiel are cutting the same kind of deal with Trump, trading away ethics and democracy for money, contracts, and power.
The German corporations weren’t innocent bystanders. They didn’t just “go along” with Nazism, they enabled it. They helped it. They built the tools of control: chemical factories for poison gas, trains for deportations, machinery for war. They thought they could ride out the storm, profit, and survive untouched. Instead, they became accomplices to one of history’s greatest crimes.
Fast forward to today, and we see the same pattern, but with AI, data, and space tech replacing steel and chemistry. The faces are new, but the bargain is the same: sell your soul, strengthen the state, and bet you’ll stay untouchable.

The New Enablers: Musk, Altman, Thiel
Elon Musk (X, SpaceX, Tesla)Musk spends huge amounts of money on politics. He gets placed into government “advisory” roles to “streamline” operations. The result? He rewires bureaucracy to suit his empire, wins massive defense contracts, and shreds regulations that would otherwise slow him down.
Sam Altman (OpenAI)Once a loud critic of government overreach, Altman flipped the moment he saw an opening. A $1 million donation here, intense lobbying there and suddenly he’s shaping AI policy from the inside. Publicly he warns about “AI risks.” Privately he works to keep the industry as unregulated as possible.
Peter Thiel (Palantir, Founders Fund)Thiel has perfected the “national security” business model. His companies supply surveillance and war-tech the government craves. He marries his libertarian ideology to the state’s military and intelligence systems, creating a pipeline from Silicon Valley into the security state.
The Hypocrisy
They talk about “ethics” and “guardrails.” They warn about “existential risks.” But when it comes to action, they do the opposite.
Altman reversed himself to gain access to power.
Musk turns government roles into weapons for personal and political fights.
All of them are selling the government AI systems - Meta’s LLaMA, Musk’s Grok, Palantir’s platforms - that become the brain and nervous system of modern state control.
They are trading away humanity, honesty, and truth for influence, wealth, and survival under Trump’s regime.

The Dark Future: Total Data Tyranny
This is far worse than the 1930s. The industrialists of that era gave fascism factories, chemicals, and efficiency. Today’s AI barons are handing over:
Perfect Surveillance: AI that tracks everyone, analyzes every message, and predicts dissent before it happens.
Automated Control: Border systems, drones, and autonomous weapons that erase the rule of law and replace it with rule by algorithm.
Information Warfare: Control over platforms like X, Google, and Meta - the pipelines that shape public reality - making truth nearly impossible to find.
These men think they’re untouchable, that they’ll always get their contracts, keep the rules light, and live above the fallout. But if they fully empower Trump’s authoritarian government, then the rest of us will live inside a high-tech nightmare of surveillance, control, and silence.
They’re building the infrastructure for oppression. This is happening right now. And just like the industrialists who fed the Nazi machine, their names will be remembered, either as the ones who stopped it, or the ones who built it.
Thanks for reading. Abrazos.
