HUNTING FOR A GOOD CUP OF COFFEE IN TOKYO

Today is a special day; I´m hunting for good coffee in Tokyo. This wasn´t what I planned to do when I woke up this morning. Specially on my free day. I had in mind several things, but one of them was NOT to go outside in a cold winter day to do anything. That is, until my wife called me early in the morning and said,
-Remember the link I sent you from my client?
The truth is, I didn´t.
-Ah, I don´t.
-Yes, the one about coffee from El Salvador.
-Oh, yes, yes. I did check it, and I think there is one place kind of close to us.
-Well, since you are chilling at home...
As soon as I heard this I was like oh, oh. She continued,
-Since you are chilling at home, and you love coffee, why don´t you go and try it out.
I didn´t respond right away, i was thinking about it, but the truth is I knew - because I know my wife so
well - that the only answer I could give was,
-Yeah sure. Sounds like a great idea.
-Thanks babe, and please bring my business cards, just in case you see any Salvadoreans.
My wife is a stylist, and one of our main challenges in Tokyo is to get her many foreign clients.
-Great idea, babe.
And so, my morning was settled. The truth is, I DO love coffee. I like to try many varieties, and Salvadoran coffee has been on my radar for a while. So I decided, as I rode the train on my way to Shibuya Station, to create a post about this adventure.

It took me 15 minutes walking to get there from the station. It was a nice, small place, packed with people. It was made up mostly of young Japanese women. Many, at 11am, having a hearty brunch.

They had a very nice display of coffee from many regions. From Ethiopia to Brazil, Colombia, Bolivia and El Salvador, of course.

The waitress was very nice, very patient with my Japanese, but she was very happy to know that I had come specifically to try the Salvadoran coffee. So I ordered, waited, and watched the barista grind two types of coffee beans. She then brought them to me so that I could appreciate them by smelling them. Wow, one of them caught me by surprise! What a great fragrance, full of flowers and sweetness. The other one was tangy, with orange notes everywhere. Great. Thank you. I was ready. She did the dripping process to brew the coffee, and in no time there were two beautiful cups of coffee in front of me.

Both tasted great! Although my favorite was the flowery one. It was soft and subtle, with a tinge of acidity that lingered gently in your palate. The perfect coffee to have on a long writing day.

Once again, I have to thank my wife for pushing me into having another great unexpected and wonderful day. Oh yes, this happens to me all the time. She is really good at knowing what I like. Thanks baby. This is why I love you.
And that´s it for this post. Thanks for reading. Abrazos.
