It was a great moment, a great night! Usually I work on Wednesdays, but this was a special day. I was able to trade my only lesson with another teacher and everything was set. I was at Conceal Gallery in Shibuya 30 minutes earlier to help set up and to mingle a bit and to just get involved.

I must say that the atmosphere at 5:30 was very quiet, very relaxed, everyone was calm. I even had a chance to check all the wonderful and interesting artist that had their works on the walls. From Johnny (The Spilt Ink) very cool T-Shirt designs and everything else,

and Erik Bishop´s designs and style

to Anthony H 808´s wear designs and music

to Vaiwatt´s powerful technicolor punk and message of acceptance,

to Monet´s careful but heart wrenching, emotional colorful girl paintings,

(I must buy this painting)

and Benjamin Michel´s powerful images,

There is something for everyone. You gotta come down to Conceal and check it out. It´s a must! If you can´t, just click on the names of every artist I mentioned and you can enjoy their creative energies. I had time to check each one of them and I enjoyed getting lost inside their artistic power.

And then,

JOHN

Diego, you ready?

DIEGO

Ready sir.

JOHN

Then , let´s do it.

It was time to present Maria Y Juana to the about 30 to 40 people present. That night, 5 short films were to be shown. I was the first one. I have to admit I was a bit nervous, but very excited about being able to do this so quickly into my arrival in Tokyo, and in front of this incredible artistic community. This is my calling card, my work, my ideas, my way of expressing myself. So get your popcorn, turn off the lights and... let´s do it!

Here are two quick videos of when it was being shown, (Yeah, quality sucks. It´s my cellphone´s fault.)

Maria y Juana (Marica, lo ves?) and Maria y Juana (Uy Marica!)

And then, to resounding applause it was time for my presentation and Q & A. 🤣🤣😂😂 I think it went pretty well. People connected to the story, several told me that they found it very funny. Many didn´t expect to see a VFX Bugs Bunny dancing. 😂🤣Anyway, in the end that was the point, to present a fun, interesting story that an audience could enjoy.

Added bonus; I met several of the other directors and actors and photographers that attended the event and I look forward to strengthening these relationships and hopefully find a way and a project on which we can all work together. I have a feeling it is gonna happen soon. Something cool, a short, a HORROR short filmed in Tokyo! Hell yeah!

I promise I will keep you all posted.

Thanks for reading. Abrazos. 🤗🫂🫂🤗
