Have you ever read or seen the series, The Handmaid's Tale by Margaret Atwood, a seminal work of dystopian fiction? No? Go ahead and read the book or watch the series. This novel, published in 1985, is set in the totalitarian society of Gilead, where women have been stripped of their rights and are forced into roles such as "handmaids" to bear children for the ruling class.

The man above would love this fictional story to become a reality.

A Dystopian Future Almost Here

"I don't want the state to be God. I don´t wanna live under the pretentious rule of finite beings who breath through their nose running every aspect of our lives as though they were the deity"  - Dou Wilson.

Doug Wilson says he doesn’t want the state to play God, but the irony is that he’s really calling for the state to play HIS version of God. He criticizes “finite beings” ruling over others, yet he pushes for HIS own beliefs to govern every part of life. What he presents as a warning against tyranny is just another form of tyranny — swapping one master for another, with his theology in charge.

Oh, the irony is so rich it could be almost comical if it weren’t so dangerous. He warns against mortals pretending to be divine, then immediately positions himself and his followers as the ones who should define God’s will for everyone else. It’s the classic “I don’t want tyranny, except my tyranny” routine.

From a political perspective, his model threatens the separation of church and state, subjecting citizens to a religiously enforced public morality and weakening protections for minorities and dissenters.

Be aware, Be safe.

Thanks for reading. Abrazos.
