WHAT WOULD HAPPEN TO THE WORLD IF AMERICA FELL INTO CIVIL WAR?

It is incredible to believe that The old USA could be ad portas of a second civil war. All the result of fear. A fear that has persisted within the mindset of the majority of the population of this country of a possible retaliation due to their past behavior, and a hidden, profound need to not accept that the way things are , that a lot of their cultural dominance, that most of their economic position within the economy, is a direct result of those behaviors.

The main problem is how easily a majority of them were swayed into believing the same old lies, the same old disqualifications, the same old racist thinking that got us here in the first place. Ancient fears manipulated and stoked by the hand of a spiteful, lying, dominating psycho like figure that appeared out of nowhere. His message was received lovingly by millions. And that hate is still there, present, breathing, alive.

THE WORLD VS. AMERICA

So, how would the world react if the above mentioned situation were to happen?

THE ECONOMY

First of all, the economy. I believe that everyone - and by everyone, I mean the whole world - would suffer immensely, due to the instability that would be created at once, as soon as the war began. The first aspect of the economy that would suffer an immediate hit would be The Dollar. How much power would it lose? Would it become worthless? It all depends on how prolonged the war is, but either way, the world would lose confidence in the Dollar, and this in itself would mean a complete drop in its value. Other currencies would at once become the new currency power houses of the world like the Chinese Yuan, the Euro, The Japanese Yen.

What about trade? Half of global trade and three-fourths of Asia-Pacific trade are denominated in US dollars. This statistic clearly shows how strongly dependent the world economy is on the Dollar. Within a year a global economic depression would have taken over and trade itself would probably come to a full stop. The amount of hunger and famine would be severe in the poorest of countries.

The overall negative effects would bring the total global economy to its knees.

SECURITY

If America is involved in an internal war, what would happen to the security in the rest of the world when it doesn´t have the time or even cared enough to police the world anymore?

Well, I can imagine a world where aggressive nations see this moment as an opportunity to attain their long held goals of territorial gain. Countries like Russia, China and Israel, to name but the strongest.

At the same time, I can easily imagine areas of the world coming closer together to form new alliances or strengthen older ones. Europe is a case in mind. South America has the potential to become another under the leadership of a powerful nation like Brasil. Japan and Korea would definitely need to unite in order to maintain and show a powerful alliance in this area of the world.

Also let´s not forget, that this event would become an incredible opportunity, for some of America´s greatest enemies, to deal a fatal blow to the strongest democracy in the world. I could imagine them making plans to make sure to maintain an unstable America entangled in a long term war that would ensure the complete collapse of their hated enemy.

If I were to write a book or a script regarding this possible outcome, the above would become my basis for further research into developing a gripping narrative that could possibly become a great, fun and exciting story.

I really hope it only remains that, a story.
