Responsibility where it belongs 2.0

Yes, this message is so necessary, so important, I had to write it down and send it out  twice. Because sometimes, you just need to say things again in a cool, direct and logical post. No excuses. No Fog.

And please, please, I´m begging, let’s stop pretending this is complicated.

NATO did not invade anyone.

Europe did not propose taking land.

The Global South did not normalize authoritarian expansion.

These ideas are coming from one place: a faction of U.S. domestic politics, led openly and unapologetically by Donald Trump and those who orbit him.

The United States helped create the post–World War II order precisely because humanity learned—at catastrophic cost—what happens when powerful nations decide that strength equals moral permission. NATO was not a business deal. It was a promise: never again will borders be redrawn by force, intimidation, or ego.

And yet here we are

When a former U.S. president questions NATO’s legitimacy, threatens to abandon allies, praises authoritarian leaders, shrugs at Ukraine’s survival, and openly suggests acquiring Greenland because “America has the power,” he is not being “realistic.”

He is reviving pre-1945 imperial thinking. The very mindset NATO was built to destroy.

This isn’t anti-American. It’s pro-American values vs. raw power politics.

The tragedy isn’t that America is weak. The tragedy is that parts of America have forgotten why restraint is power.

History is watching. And it is very familiar with how this story ends when democracies grow careless with their own principles.

Thanks for reading. Abrazos.
