https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nhZRgs_6BAg The video of what happened to Rumeysa Ozturk.

What happened to Rumeysa Ozturk - a Fulbright scholar suddenly detained by U.S. immigration agents - is not just a tragic case of overreach. It’s a warning.

Soon they will start going after citizens. History shows us that when governments cross the line of accountability, the next step is to turn that unchecked power inward. Today, it's a foreign student. Tomorrow, it could be a journalist, an activist, or a citizen who holds unpopular views. A blogger? 🙀😮

Well, this is how it begins. Not with loud declarations of tyranny, but with quiet acts of intimidation cloaked in "national security" rhetoric. The more incidents like this are tolerated, the closer we move to a society where power operates without limits, and people disappear without explanation.

What did Marcos Rubio - The secretary of State - say in a press conference? Oh yeah, ´they have revoked over 300 students visas… or maybe more.¨ (You can check the video here)

The sickening truth is that these events normalize authoritarian tactics. When masked agents detain someone in broad daylight with no warning, no clear explanation, and minimal accountability, they send a chilling message: We can take you, and no one can stop us. Fear replaces justice, and people begin to hesitate before speaking out, protesting, or even questioning authority.

Supporters of these actions may justify them as necessary for national security. They may claim that anyone who violates visa rules or engages in certain political activity is fair game for arrest and deportation. But this argument ignores a critical point: systems built on fear and intimidation don’t stop with those on the margins. Once normalized, those same tools of power are inevitably turned on citizens.

In authoritarian regimes, this pattern is common. It starts with "outsiders" - immigrants, minorities, or political dissidents - and gradually expands to include anyone who challenges the system. History warns us that once governments believe they can silence or disappear people without consequence, the line between "foreigner" and "citizen" blurs.

The most alarming part of Ozturk's case is the message it sends: The rules no longer apply when power goes unchecked.

If this is allowed to continue, fear will become the new normal. People will begin to ask themselves, Is it safe to speak up? Is it wise to disagree? When those questions start to dominate public discourse, oppression has already taken root.

The only way to resist this path is to reject fear as a governing tool and demand transparency and accountability. If we fail to speak out now, tomorrow's headlines may not feature foreign students or immigrants, they will show ordinary citizens who dared to question authority.

This is how democracy dies, not all at once, but piece by piece, under the shadow of silence.

And then more probable than anything, the actual news of people disappearing will disappear too, demonstrating how really things have taken a turn for the worst.

Below, a sample of comments by those that support this behavior by the government. If there is no opposition, soon we will see citizens pointing fingers at other citizens for not following the leader´s commands. This is how it usually ends.

-Good bye baby!

-Protest all you want. She is gone!!!

-We need to educate Americans!!

-Adios.

-This is correct law enforcement.

-Bye....dont let the door hit your ass on the way out.

-You mean she wasn't found on a farm making $2.00 an hour? Imagine that!

-Don’t worry , she will soon be released…to Turkey.

-"Detained"...the rest of the world calls that kidnapping.

-Bye! Go home. Here’s a free ride.

-Keep em out!

-Don’t worry , she will soon be released…to Turkey.

-It's about time!

-Ah ha ha ha ha ha ha! Bye!

-They must have something on her because they won’t just retained her for no reasons!

-It's about time get them out of here thank you president  trump!

- GO HOME.

Thanks for reading. Abrazos.
